The Peach Paste (Art. No. 873885) produced by Expertarom Food Ingredients S.R.L., Sibiu, Romania, is a fruit-based flavouring paste developed for use in the food industry, particularly in ice cream production. It provides a natural peach flavour, colour, and texture to finished products and is intended for food manufacturing rather than direct consumption. The recommended dosage is approximately 50 g per 1 kg of mix.
The paste is made from sugar, 20% peach pieces, glucose syrup, and water, combined with citric acid, modified starch, sodium citrate as an acidity regulator, and natural flavouring. Colour is provided by beta-carotene, curcumin, and annatto (E160b(ii)), while potassium sorbate is used as a preservative. At 20°C, the product appears as a viscous orange mass with a typical peach aroma and taste.
Physico-chemical parameters include a Brix value of approximately 65°Bx (±3) and a pH of 3.0 (±0.5). Nutritionally, the product provides 1086 kJ / 255 kcal per 100 g, with 0.14 g of fat (0.08 g saturated), 60 g of carbohydrates (52 g sugars), 0.30 g of fibre, 0.2 g of protein, and 0.375 g of salt.
The product meets microbiological limits of max. 1000 cfu/g total germ count, 1 cfu/g Enterobacteria, and 100 cfu/g yeasts and moulds, and complies with EU Regulation (EC) No. 2023/915 regarding contaminants.
Peach paste is supplied in food-grade polypropylene sealed buckets and should be stored in its original unopened packaging in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight at 5–25°C. Once opened, it should be kept refrigerated at 0–8°C, with the container closed after each use and homogenised before use. Under these conditions, the product has a shelf life of 12 months from the production date. Due to the use of real fruit, the product may occasionally contain natural fruit particles or foreign bodies despite strict quality control.
