Takeaway Packaging Accessories

Takeaway food outlets won’t get very far without a good supply of packaging and accessories. If you run out of paper coffee cups, for example, it doesn’t matter how long the queue or how full your coffee pot – it will be a case of business over for the day.

There are many types of takeaway packaging which need to be stored by food and drink outlets – there’s far more to takeaway packaging than the cups and boxes.

  • Stirrers – whereas some take-away coffee bars used to provide a few metal teaspoons for their customers use this is now scowled upon as being unhygienic and basically wrong. Your customers should instead be provided with some sort of stirrer – wooden ones are best – that way they are compostable, biodegradable and recyclable. They just look like slim lollipop sticks really but they do a great job.
  • Cup carry trays – carrying one cup of hot coffee in a take-away cup is fine, carrying two is just about manageable (if you don’t have anything else to carry) but any more than that and your customers are done for. Fortunately some genius designed cup carry trays made from compostable, biodegradable and recyclable cardboard. These are available for carrying two or four paper cups (they really only suit paper or plastic cups) with some designs even incorporating a carrying handle. It sure makes life easier for your customers if they have to carry two cups as well as a takeaway meal or two.
  • Paper cup sleeves – are another useful accessory for take-away outlets. These help to prevent your customer from burning their fingers and can also be customized with printing or stickers with your company name or logo. Remember that they too should be compostable, biodegradable and recyclable.

Next time you are stocking up on your take-away packaging supplies don’t forget these important accessories.
